Unlike testing applications for Android, where the test application is an installation file, things are a bit more complicated with IOS. The centralized testing approach is actually the only possible method for fast delivery of an application from developer to tester (or customer).
Testing is carried out using the TestFlight application, which provides delivery and installation of test programs. The time of the test version since its shipment is 60 days, after which the updated version is expected to download. If the new version is not shipped, then testing is terminated.
Testing is divided into internal and external. In both cases, a list of testers is compiled. In the case of external testing, the application must undergo additional «beta»-check From practice, this check is carried out from 1 to 2 days. Internal verification is designed for company employees who trust developers. We tend to use internal testing because of its fast dynamics.
Stage 1
For testing, you need to know the AppleID with which the device works. To view the active AppleID you need to go to Settings -> iTunes Store and App Store
The AppleID address list must be sent to the developers (or testing organizer). Attention! Only AppleID is required and preferably a surname and name, a password is NOT required.
Stage 2
After registering your AppleID, you will receive an email with the following message:
Follow the link from the letter. In the browser window that opens, you need to agree to the terms and confirm the intention.
Stage 3
To speed up the process, you can inform the developer that all testers have already confirmed their participation.
Now you need to install the application. TestFlight from the AppStore.
Stage 4
After confirmation, the developer connects you to the specific application under test, after which you receive the following letter
Navigate to the invitation from the letter and you will install the target application. From this point you can begin testing.
Update
If the developer rolled out a new release, then you will need to perform the update via TestFlight almost the same as any other update in the AppStore.
After the expiration of the test, the application will work on your device. You can delete it just like any other.
Do not allow the test and release versions of applications on your devices. Before downloading the release, it is recommended to remove the test version.
